Product developer Linda Korchi explains how the unusual mix of Oxybul + N’joy gave rise to the Monstribilis board game…
Linda, how did you get the idea to create this game?
Pierre Danckaert and Loïc Duchateau came to lead an employee event in our Paris office. We were wowed by it and decided to adapt it for the Partybul range, our talent brand designed for birthday parties.
How did you convert it from a “full-size” activity to a board game?
We relied on the skills and knowledge of our entertainment experts, Loïc and Pierre. And we relied on our own expertise to adapt it to a board game format.
We had to introduce a time limit, a limit on the number of players and a few other things. We have experience with this type of game and, thanks to customer feedback, we know that 30 minutes is the perfect game length and the average number of children at a birthday party is 8 to 10.
We also reworked the original design created by Pierre Danckaert to bring it in line with the Oxybul charter.
What sort of customer feedback did you get?
The game has just been launched but early feedback is promising and we’ll know more by spring. Between April and September is the peak period for the Partybul range.
