Okaïdi continues to expand abroad with its latest (now 9th) website for the enticing German market.
On Tuesday 15 October, the German Okaïdi website went from only click & collect to outright online purchasing (https://www.okaidi.de/). François Malinge, Chief Digital Technology Officer, breaks it down.
How did the launch go?
The staff did a great job setting up the website in only two months.
That was fast!
The digital technology staff worked really well with the marketing, IT and retail teams. And our new online platform is designed to roll out the e-commerce concept across multiple countries.
Are you off to a good start?
Our German customers certainly think so! Sales figures for the first few days were very promising and higher than the Spanish website, with a very high average basket.
What’s next for Germany?
In 2020 we want to introduce specific options for our German customers, such as payment on home delivery. It’s part of our ‘glocal’ approach of adapting to the different cultural aspects of each market.
Any other websites in store?
In early 2020 the Swiss website should switch from click & collect to fully fledged e-commerce. And Swiss customers will enjoy the added option of ‘ship from store’ whereby orders can be prepared and sent from the store to the customer’s home.
