HUMAN POWER: Drawings to connect with others

During these strange times, it’s so important to maintain ties with all generations of family members, whether they’re living with us or far away.

We gave children from the Rigolo Comme La Vie nurseries a chance to make drawings or videos of support:
– for healthcare workers at nearby hospitals to say Thank You
– for seniors in care homes or retirement homes to warm their hearts

It was a great success! The children, their older brothers, sisters, parents and even the nursery employees all participated wholeheartedly.

We sent out a first batch on Friday 17 April with more than 45 drawings and videos to healthcare workers and seniors at hospitals, community centres and retirement homes in the cities of Roubaix, Dunkerque, Cambrai, Douai, Lille, Saint-Parres-aux-Tertres, Tourcoing, Arleux, Orchies, Rennes and more.

The families and employees were all thrilled to take part in the initiative. Here’s what some of them had to say.

“I’m sending you the drawings made by my little boy, Maxence, who is 17 months old. He really put his heart into it. We want to send a heartfelt thanks to the healthcare workers, grocery store workers, first aid responders, delivery people… and the elderly people in care homes. We wanted to tell them to stay strong.”

“Here’s a little painting by my daughter to say thanks to everyone who’s facing the virus every day to take care of us… Thanks for this initiative! Stay strong everybody.

“Today, we learned a new song and are happy to share it with you – you can sing along with us if you want! 🙂   Stay strong everyone!”

“Despite the confinement, this was a real team effort encouraged by the families. Even if the situation is difficult, we were very happy to make it.”

You can send us your creations at contact@rigolocommelavie.fr and we will share them when we send our next batch out.
