DIGITAL INNOVATION: OKAÏDI is launching a new mobile channel: RCS

For the launch of the 2020 summer sales, Okaïdi is one of the first few companies to discuss a new mobile channel: RCS. Christophe Doise, Campaign Manager, explains this progress in customer view that is part of our digital acceleration.

  • What is RCS?

A promising technology from Google in collaboration with mobile phone operators. A sort of text 2.0 that dusts off its ancestor and its 160 characters limit by enriching it through digital media (images, gifs, videos), action buttons and even a certified account…a little like instant messaging systems such as WhatsApp or Messenger.

More than words, making room for images:

  • On the left, a regular text message for our customers who are not yet eligible*
  • On the right, the RCS for the sales launch 

Congratulations on this innovative cross-channel collaboration between the “CRM – Customer Performance” and “Okaïdi Marketing” teams which was set up in only 3 weeks… And which in particular promotes our “Click and Collect” pedestrian service!

A great way for Okaïdi to set itself apart from all the other text messages people receive during the sales!

*NB: this innovative technology is, for the moment, only available on latest generation Android phones or by installing Google Messages. Compatibility with iOS (through iMessage) is scheduled for the second half of 2020.
