The week of 22 January will see ÏDKIDS welcome schoolchildren for a work experience week. Finding out all about the different jobs on offer in the ÏDKIDS community will be top of their to-do list!
In line with its We Act For Kids ethos and values of Respect, Sharing and Progress, ÏDKIDS helps young people forge their career path by organizing a work experience week for them every year. It’s not always easy for middle and high school students to find a host company offering a varied work experience programme, but this is an important step in helping them to make decisions about their career.
In addition to this initiative, this year ÏDKIDS is teaming up with the Stages En Main programme offered by the charity Crée Ton Avenir. Fifteen pupils, most of them 14-16-year-olds from schools in Roubaix, will spend a week at ÏDKIDS head office. A great way to help the local community! During this time they will be guided and supervised by ten volunteer employees from ÏDKIDS and staff from Crée Ton Avenir.
Among the highlights will be getting to know the company better, careers in merchandising, communication and IT, and job interview training.
The students will also be asked to share their ideas on two subjects: showing how children can be entertained in our stores while their parents are shopping (in the form of a skit) and designing store mock-ups incorporating all our different brand activities. It promises to be a valuable experience for all!
More about Crée Ton Avenir: the charity helps young people aged 11 to 18 to forge their career path by giving them a chance to use their business knowledge and skills. All of the available programmes are accessible to all and free of charge for young people, families and schools. The aim is to help young people find out what they’re good at and then develop these skills.
