Personally, I get ready every day as if I were going into the office: I put on my makeup, get dressed, etc. I do have days where I feel a little down, because it can be frustrating to be at home, but not really! Sometimes, it’s too much: I feel like I should have time, and yet I don’t! When that happens, making a nice home-cooked meal for my three kids helps me relax.
With my team – 80% of whom are furloughed – we take the time to say hi every day. We share a recipe or a photo, talk about the weather…
It may not be work related, but it’s nice to connect with others!
And once a week I do a video conference with everyone so we can see each other and catch up.
What’s sometimes complicated is our lack of process. For example, last night, with regard to reopening our stores in Austria, there were emails, phone calls, WhatsApp messages! I asked for everyone to stop and take a breath while we worked out the strategy and divided up the roles. I think that’s key to moving forward!
