{"id":5220,"date":"2018-09-14T16:25:13","date_gmt":"2018-09-14T14:25:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corporate-idkids-com.azurewebsites.net\/?p=5220"},"modified":"2018-11-23T19:06:15","modified_gmt":"2018-11-23T18:06:15","slug":"orientation-day-for-okaidi-and-jacadi-employees-in-shanghai-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/en\/orientation-day-for-okaidi-and-jacadi-employees-in-shanghai-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Orientation day for Oka\u00efdi and Jacadi employees in Shanghai, China"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>On 27 February staff from \u00cfDKIDS head office held an orientation day for 120 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.okaidi.fr\/?cmpid=SNB-GOO-BRD-sn_marque_okaidi-okaidi&amp;kard=1&amp;gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4NuCuMf92QIVsDLTCh0cKQMuEAAYASAAEgJkw_D_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oka\u00efdi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacadi.fr\/?ns_mchannel=ppc&amp;gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhKTJ0cf92QIVRrcbCh159ALFEAAYASAAEgJbCPD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacadi<\/a> employees, including store managers and all head office staff from Shanghai.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Genevi\u00e8ve Aerts<\/strong>, \u00cfDKIDS community director of culture and reputation, <strong>C\u00e9dric Dardenne<\/strong>, \u00cfDKIDS CEO and <strong>Eric Venel<\/strong>, Jacadi\u00a0CEO, had a clear mission to fulfil: transcend borders to integrate Chinese employees into the \u00cfDKIDS community and teach them about our We Act For Kids ethos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The topics covered were:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How it all began: the \u00cfDKIDS community is a dynamic family group with a long history in the Hauts-de France region.<\/li>\n<li>What <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/act-for-kids\/des-marques-benefiques-et-militantes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">We Act For Kids<\/a> is all about: \u201cWorking to make a better world for growing children\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>The cultural platform and commitments made by each of <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/marque\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the community&#8217;s brands<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>And preparing everyone for the challenges ahead in the next 20 years!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following the presentations a series of group workshops was held in which participants gave their feedback and discussed the key messages and how best to convey them to their teams. <strong>Cultural gaps were bridged and knowledge was shared.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3101 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Visuel-ok-chine-2-300x170.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Visuel-ok-chine-2-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Visuel-ok-chine-2.jpg 480w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Visuel-ok-chine-2-305x173.jpg 305w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Visuel-ok-chine-2-42x24.jpg 42w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Visuel-ok-chine-2-141x80.jpg 141w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Thomas Le Grand, Asia retail director<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThe \u00cfDKIDS community has been in China for just over 10 years now. It started with the first Jacadi store in 2006 followed by Oka\u00efdi in 2007. For the past three years our growth has accelerated rapidly. Now we have 23 Jacadi stores and 44 Oka\u00efdi stores in China. It doesn\u2019t stop there. Two more new stores will be opening on 28 April 2018: Oka\u00efdi in Nanjing and Jacadi in Xian. With more to come! Counting all of the brands, there are about 330 \u00cfDKIDS community employees in China. Both of our brands are perceived as high quality. The universal values of Oka\u00efdi and the Parisian elegance of Jacadi have made a very positive impression and the brands have a strong customer base.<\/p>\n<p>There are 5,000 different childrenswear brands in China, so our We Act For Kids ethos is more important than ever if we want to make our mark in this industry. Our growth depends on the uniqueness of our brands: their commitment, their involvement and their benefits. These strong foundations will ensure we stand the test of time!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some feedback from China<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Lily, Oka\u00efdi store manager, <\/strong><strong>Shanghai Kerry Center<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cI joined the \u00cfDKIDS community in 2015. I enjoy working for Oka\u00efdi, the brand&#8217;s values bring a sense of pride and recognition. It\u2019s not just a job, it&#8217;s a career! Now I have a clear vision of the brand\u2019s mission and I fully support its core philosophy and values of Respect, Sharing and Progress. There is a great working atmosphere and I have a good relationship with my managers and colleagues. The orientation day gave me the opportunity to refresh my knowledge and understanding of the community and its brands; for example, the fact that Oka\u00efdi is a universal brand that respects the identity of every child. I shared what I learned with my team at one of our recent meetings. I also enjoyed hearing about Roubaix, because Paris was the only French city I knew anything about!\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Chris, Oka\u00efdi store manager, Shanghai Chamtime\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cI started working at Oka\u00efdi in October. The big difference between Oka\u00efdi and the retailer I worked for previously is the company&#8217;s values. We are more people-oriented and take care of each other. We also take care of children through the We Act For Kids ethos. I thought the orientation day would be focused on sales figures and bottom lines, but it was much more than that! The presenters gave us a great insight into the community\u2019s identity, projects and goals. Now I have a much better understanding of what our brands do and how to use our tools (e.g. the <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/homme-culture\/culture-dentreprise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responsibility tree<\/a>). The most surprising thing I learned is that our values were inspired by the scout movement! I shared what I learned with my team verbally and in writing. Each member of the team took the time to carefully review the material. It was an opportunity for me to better understand the identity of our group and what we can accomplish together. I learned some interesting facts about the history of our brands and how to use some of our corporate tools such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/homme-culture\/culture-dentreprise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paradox triangle<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Steven, Oka\u00efdi senior manager, Beijing Miyun Living Mall<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cMy recent experience has taught me how to manage my responsibilities, but Oka\u00efdi has taken my job to the next level! For example, my experience was useful to Oka\u00efdi for the store opening. I\u2019m proud the opening was a success and I\u2019m already looking forward to the next one! The \u00cfDKIDS community is really vibrant. We all work together to pursue our goal of helping children all over the world.
