{"id":4959,"date":"2018-09-14T16:27:23","date_gmt":"2018-09-14T14:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corporate-idkids-com.azurewebsites.net\/?p=4959"},"modified":"2018-11-23T18:12:24","modified_gmt":"2018-11-23T17:12:24","slug":"idkids-partners-with-universite-de-lille-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/en\/idkids-partners-with-universite-de-lille-1\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00cfDKIDS partners with Universit\u00e9 de Lille 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>For three months the \u00cfDKIDS Research &amp; Data team will lead groups of students studying for their master&#8217;s in <a href=\"http:\/\/mastersiad.univ-lille1.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Information and Decision Support Systems<\/a> in researching the theme of enterprise data.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Two groups of first-year graduate students at Universit\u00e9 de Lille 1 spent time at \u00cfDKIDS head office in Roubaix at the beginning of January and will be regularly monitored by the \u00cfDKIDS Research &amp; Data team until their research is complete.<\/p>\n<p>The programme is in line with the <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/homme-culture\/culture-dentreprise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00cfDKIDS community values of Sharing and Progress<\/a>. This collaboration can serve as a research platform for young graduates with data training and it offers a fresh perspective, giving us new insight into our customers to better meet their needs. Understanding the relationship between customers\u2019 habits, preferences and expectations is a major strategic challenge and the key to good decision-making.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The research is focused on two areas<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Modelling a product recommendation engine for customers of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oxybul.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oxybul<\/a> website based on their order history and the profile of similar customers.<\/li>\n<li>Analysing how well <a href=\"http:\/\/www.okaidi.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oka\u00efdi<\/a> customers relate to the various communication channels used to better understand what news and highlights they\u2019d like to see in store or on the Internet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The students were very enthusiastic about both subjects and the \u00cfDKIDS teams were delighted to spend such valuable time with tomorrow&#8217;s young talent.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Walid is one of the students taking part in the programme<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u201cThis partnership between Universit\u00e9 de Lille 1&#8217;s Master in IDSS and \u00cfDKIDS is a great way to consolidate the relationship and links between two inseparable sectors, namely higher education and business. It enables the university to reinforce the educational content of its course with concrete experiences in a business environment and adapt its teaching in line with market needs. It also offers the company a service based on solid theoretical knowledge supervised by research professors.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What are the main challenges of enterprise data?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cData have become a very important digital asset for companies. Useful knowledge can now be extracted from them using established techniques. This knowledge helps companies better manage their different departments, particularly marketing and production.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What excited you most about working with \u00cfDKIDS?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWorking with \u00cfDKIDS is an opportunity to apply what I learn during my theoretical training. Having access to large quantities of real data is vital if you want to put theory into practice. And the topics we&#8217;re working on are interesting and current. It means we can add value to the business at the end of the research period, which is not only good experience but very satisfying on a personal level.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What are you expecting from this partnership?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis partnership is an opportunity to gain valuable business experience working with data.
