The first free \u00cfDTROC second-hand book sale for 0-12-year-olds was held on 18 to 29 April 2017 in Oxybul<\/a> stores in rue de Courcelles, Paris and the Val d\u2019Europe shopping centre.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u00cfDTROC<\/a> has already been successfully piloted by several brands in the \u00cfDKIDS community and this April was held at Oxybul<\/a> in the form of a second-hand book sale for 0-12-year-olds.<\/p>\n

The event was part of the \u00cfDKIDS social responsibility initiative, helping to contribute to the circular economy and foster solidarity. Most of the unsold books were donated to a charity sponsored by the store in partnership with the \u00cfDKIDS foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As well as being a socially responsible event, \u00cfDTROC promotes interaction between customers and the store teams.<\/p>\n

At Oxybul Courcelles, one of the two stores trialling the concept, the event was hugely popular with customers.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Donors were able to make some space on their bookshelves while simultaneously supporting an environmentally responsible initiative.<\/p>\n

Buyers had a large selection of books to choose from, all checked by Oxybul staff and available at a low price (2, 3 or 5 euros) in their Oxybul store.<\/p>\n

In total, 33 people donated more than 720 books.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Of these, 560 were sold during a week that also gave people the opportunity to socialize and chat. And 164 unsold books were donated to Aide d\u2019Urgence du Val de Marne (AUVM)<\/a>, a charity that provides emergency accommodation and innovative educational activities.<\/p>\n

This initiative was very well received<\/strong> with donors and buyers alike keen to know when the next \u00cfDTROC would be held! Some donors received almost 100 euros in gift vouchers.<\/p>\n

\u00cfDTROC has demonstrated that the \u00cfDKIDS community is willing to do business differently by committing to a sustainable, socially responsible economy and a strong relationship with its customers.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
