{"id":10229,"date":"2020-04-10T19:05:04","date_gmt":"2020-04-10T17:05:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/corporate-idkids-com.azurewebsites.net\/solidarite-nous-nous-demenons-avec-tous-nos-partenaires-pour-les-enfants-les-plus-fragiles\/"},"modified":"2020-04-15T17:35:13","modified_gmt":"2020-04-15T15:35:13","slug":"solidarite-we-are-working-with-all-our-partners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/en\/solidarite-we-are-working-with-all-our-partners\/","title":{"rendered":"SOLIDARITY: \u201cWe\u2019re working with all our partners for the most vulnerable children.\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><strong>C\u00e9cile, who heads up the \u00cfDKIDS Action Fund, talks about the needs emerging from the current health crisis \u2013 from children in hospital, in foster care or in underprivileged situations in France, Bangladesh or Madagascar \u2013 as well as the initiatives created to help.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>C\u00e9cile, can you explain what is guiding the Action Fund\u2019s choices at this time?<\/strong><\/strong><br><strong><strong>What specific actions are being taken?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve already undertaken two types of actions for the most vulnerable families and children:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For children who are isolated in hospital<\/strong> (visits not allowed due to the confinement), we have worked with our partner<a href=\"https:\/\/us12.campaign-archive.com\/?e=&amp;u=a3ebdddc617188637877857a4&amp;id=767e9188f2\"> Ludopital<\/a> to organise activities managed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/marque\/njoy\/\">&nbsp;N\u2019JOY<\/a> partner brand teams by videoconference. Additionally,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.joyvox.fr\/fr\"> JoyVox<\/a>, the cultural and musical partner brand, will send each child electronic birthday cards and a personalised song. Together, we\u2019re offering this activity to the paediatric services of hospitals in France\u2019s Nord department and the Lille metropolitan area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At the request of<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.emmaus-solidarite.org\/\">Emma\u00fcs Solidarit\u00e9<\/a>, we are working with various other foundations, to gather tablets so that children in foster care homes in Ivry and Paris can continue their schooling remotely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are there any other initiatives under way by the Action Fund\u2019s partner brands?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, thanks to their generosity, we were able to grant several requests for toys or clothing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>At the request of the<a href=\"https:\/\/fondationmaintenant.com\/\"> Fondation Maintenant<\/a>, we\u2019re going to provide children at the Necker children\u2019s hospital (Paris) with Lunii story boxes to help them pass the time thanks to<a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/en\/brand\/oxybul\/\"> Oxybul<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>We were able to grant the request of a nurse from the ICU department at the Timone hospital in Marseille. Claire, the manager of the local Oxybul store, went to great lengths to bring them creative and imitation games and books.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Antonio, an Oxybul store manager, delivered toys on Monday, 6 April for children whose mothers are victims of domestic violence and are staying in the emergency centre set up for the duration of the confinement by the V2 shopping centre and three different associations. The situation these countries is especially critical:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In Bangladesh, <\/strong>those living in the slums are no longer allowed to leave their neighbourhoods to earn a living or shop for food. Wahid, who is responsible for<a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/en\/destination-bangladesh\/\"> our local school<\/a>, immediately took action and collected \u20ac300 from his friends to prepare 60 emergency food parcels to meet <strong>the needs of the most destitute families<\/strong>. Because the school has been closed since 20 March, the teachers are not able to work, and so they have been helping to prepare and distribute food.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Bangaldesh-grocery-1024x750.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Bangaldesh-grocery-1024x750.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Bangaldesh-grocery-300x220.jpg 300w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Bangaldesh-grocery-768x563.jpg 768w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Bangaldesh-grocery-305x223.jpg 305w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Bangaldesh-grocery-33x24.jpg 33w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Bangaldesh-grocery-109x80.jpg 109w, https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Bangaldesh-grocery.jpg 1216w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>The teams distributing meals in Bangladesh<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When he learned about this initiative,<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Muhammad_Yunus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Professor Yunus<\/a>, with whom we are already partnered, immediately offered to provide \u20ac18,000 to finance the project for the next 3 months through his foundation<a href=\"http:\/\/www.grameenshikkha.com\/\"> Grameen Shikkha (Grameen Education)<\/a>. Nearly 150 families will receive meals. We will be contributing an additional \u20ac5,000 and turning to our partner hunger relief foundations to deploy this aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the four individuals from the dispensary we finance are doing valuable <strong>prevention work teaching hygiene techniques<\/strong> to children from the slums and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Finally, in Madagascar, <\/strong><\/strong>where we created<a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.idkids.com\/giving-tuesday-le-fondactions-idkids-lance-le-tote-bag-solidaire-jacadi-x-tohana\/\"> a social business with the Tohana association<\/a> a year ago, 14 new apprentice seamstresses have adapted their production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because they cannot produce the tote bags with our partner Jacadi (fabric stocks are blocked in Italy), <strong>they are now making fabric masks<\/strong> to meet the needs of local associations and at our request.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u00cfDKIDS Action Fund ordered 2,000 masks to hand out to beneficiary families of another partner, the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.atia-ong.org\/partenaires\/partenaires-op%C3%A9rationnels\/madagascar\/\"> Koloaina<\/a> association.
