Cédric PONCELET: chief new business development officer

The goal is for each new business to not only add but significantly augment value.

“I joined the company over six months ago with the aim of identifying, analysing, integrating and supporting new businesses that would enrich the products and services of the ÏDKIDS community offline and online. With a focus on innovative products, enabling services and committed partnerships, my day-to-day role involves looking both internally and externally for future projects to complement the brands in the ÏDKIDS community.

I rely on my colleagues to be my eyes and ears in this regard. Steeped in our values and brands, and attuned to our customers and their needs, they are perfectly placed to identify good products and services that complement what we already offer. For example, a sales assistant in Belgium recently sent me a link to an innovative babysitting website.

Once the new entity is integrated, my role is to support and facilitate the ‘graft’ by finding good internal representatives from the brands and support services and creating effective synergies so that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The goal is for each new business to spur ÏDKIDS brands, services and employees to reinvent themselves and thereby not only add but significantly augment value.

I work side by side with the director of culture, Geneviève Aerts, on this. She is responsible for communicating the energy behind We Act For Kids to new arrivals and conveying the rich new outlook that will move us forward to our internal teams.”
